I’m still in the middle of tweaking settings and fixing how the default page looks, but I thought I’d let you guys know: I’ve enabled Google Apps for likhain.net.

Start page URL is http://partnerpage.google.com/likhain.net. You can also use http://start.likhain.net.

Please feel free to sign up for an account. I’m planning to use likhain.net Gmail myself.

Post-penultimatum

Having decided to close Stranje, I’m also going to focus on the few projects I have left — K33G being one of them. I’m looking at a semi-upgrade theme- and plugin-wise, and also at a series of upcoming posts I may or may not turn into articles:

- girls and gamers
- geekhood
- a look at what intelligence does or does not mean, based on my own experience

Also I’ll be turning likhain.net into a sort of portal to creative projects involving anything from geeky blogs to experiments in art, dabbling in typography, and condensations of classic speeches and major philosophical texts. If anyone wants to be hosted (you get your own FTP login, SQL, etc etc) or help out with the main site, please let me know.

Before beginning

The good news: The domain seems to be working fine for now, and the WP install went by with nary a hitch (once I figured out the database permissions, anyway). Also, I found a nice theme I’ll be installing here in a bit: Vistered. I’ll change the background PNGs, though. Some of them don’t tile very well on non-standard resolutions. More good news? We have a Google group, please join so we can get started soon.

The not-so-good news: I’m having trouble with lux-lucis.net. I’m going to transfer hosts, but it’s taking a horribly long time because the FTP connection is very unstable and the domain itself goes down every few hours or so. Crazy. Thus, Stranje and all the other lLnet blogs will probably be down these next few days while I import and download and upload and export and attempt to retain some semblance of sanity. Mmm. I’m really excited about writing on K33G, but saving my lLnet data is more urgent at the moment.

Things we can do right now: Come up with interesting ideas for entries. Write a self-introduction and post it on the Google group. Talk about the general categories we’ll be working with; I mentioned several in my original e-mail, and we’ll probably be adding more, like, oh, supernatural/surreal experiences, ideas and How To Get Things Done, stuff like that. If you have a suggestion for a category do say so. The one important thing for topics to write about, after all, is that you like them and show that liking in your writing.

That’s all for now — I’m dead tired and very sleepy. See you guys tomorrow; hopefully the theme will have been installed by then.
